Last week's message from Rev. Shawn:
"Facts Are Neutral”
Hey Everybody,
We have often heard the expression, “face the facts.” It’s not a bad thing to face the facts. Facts have no opinion. They aren’t proof of whether we are good or bad. They aren’t proof of God. They are the facts of a situation, and they have no meaning.
When we look at something, say a car accident. The only meaning it has is the meaning we give it. We can say, “That’s awful,” but that is an opinion, not a fact. I like cookies a lot. It doesn’t make it a fact that cookies are delicious, nor is it the Truth…or is it?
Facts are not the Truth. Facts are evidence that something happened. Facts just aren’t the meaning of what happened or how they happened.
So, let’s not use facts to tell us what to feel about things. Let’s not use facts to separate us. Let’s not use facts to win. Use facts to open a door between you and your neighbor. Use facts to open a door in your mind.
Facts have no inherent meaning, they are neutral. Use them to know God rather than shutting God out. Use facts to let light shine.
Let’s affirm together, “The Superconscious Mind is awake in me now!”
Blessings,
Rev. Shawn
