Where you work with your dog when you train them is critical. It’s important to start in a quiet area with no distractions. Training in the middle of the family room with kids running around and playing as the TV is on is going to be counterproductive. Granted, you want the dog to respond in this situation, but that is not where you should start training. You also need to train in all of the environments where you will want your dog to respond. The family room, the kitchen, the back yard, the front yard, the park, camp…. They are all separate areas where you will need to train and practice.
You can find more information on training your dog at our website, www.greenacreskennel.com or at the Green Acres Kennel Shop FaceBook page.
