In the final episode of 2020, we talk with Mr. Luke Carthy, an ECommerce growth consultant and founder of Afrodrops, an online store featuring products for natural afro and curly hair care.
We discuss Luke’s background where he worked at an Electronics retailer, transitioning into selling HDMI cables on eBay and how that helped him develop a love for eCommerce which eventually led him to SEO. We discuss how he landed his first major speaking gig at an SEO conference and what it’s like becoming known in the SEO space.
We also talk at length about diversity and representation within the hair care industry which led him to the founding of his company Afro Drops. We talk about what it’s like founding a business during COVID, entrepreneurship and side hustling while still doing SEO by day.
