Jeff Deskovic is the creator of the Deskovic Foundation, an organization that works to exonerate people falsely accused and.convicted of crimes.
At the age of 16, Jeff was tried and convicted of the rape and murder of one of his high school classmates, even though DNA evidence and proof of a coerced confession by police should have proclaimed his innocence.
After serving 16 years in a maximum security prison, 7 failed appeal attempts, and teaching himself how to appeal his own defense in the prison's law library, the actual killer was confirmed via DNA evidence and confessed to the murder that Jeff was serving time for.
Upon his release, Jeff created the Deskovic Foundation to prevent this from happening to other falsely accused individuals, and since 2011, has freed 11 exonerees from being falsely imprisoned.
