We're back for episode 4, where Marketing Officer David McLeod, and Dr Nicky Small, Local History Officer, are discussing the story of Anthony Murray of Dollerie in a series of 19 family letters collected in the years 1745-1746, currently on display in our Jacobite Clans exhibition.
Dr Small takes us through these letters which show us how families navigated the Jacobite era and made crucial decisions about whether to join Bonnie Prince Charlie or try to stay outside politics. The letters also show the local reaction to the Prince’s arrival, how news travelled at that time and lead us to the tragic defeat at Culloden.
Jacobite Clans is an episodic podcast series released over 16 weeks to compliment the Jacobite Clans exhibition at Perth Museum & Art Gallery.
As part of this exhibition we are sharing social media content using the hashtag #CPKjacobites, so please join in the conversation there. You can follow us on social media at the links below.
