We interview Numa Perrier, an actress, writer, producer, and director - well-known for her original web series umbrella BLACK & SEXY TV which birthed viral series like The Couple, RoomieLoverFriends, and Hello Cupid. Her first feature film ‘Jezebel,’ was shown at SXSW this year - a coming-of-age project about a Las Vegas teen’s experience as a webcam sex worker. Perrier has also directed episodes of the Ava DuVernay-helmed ‘Queen Sugar’ on the OWN Network.
We talk with Numa about her process in making Jezebel, her ambitions of launching a million dollar foundation for black women filmmakers, tips on crowdfunding and much more.
