We interview Zandashe Brown, an award-winning genre filmmaker born and bred in Lousiana. Brown writes and directs stories primarily within the horror genre that showcase her perspective on identity, spirituality, and healing for black women in the American south.
Her latest short film 'Blood Runs down has won multiple awards including being an official Black Star Film festival selection, Overlook film festival selection and many more.
We talk with Zandashe about incorporating mysticism into horror, why she believes it's important for audiences to root for black people, and the perks of being a filmmaker in New Orleans.
