I have been on a long road of working on my degree in Communications since 2010. I am now a College Senior as of Friday morning after passing my most recent course. This has been a long-road, but thankfully it also has not put me into college debt.I even made a video back in 2010 at the start of my degree to explain how I have been pursuing it.
The point of this letter is to think about how some projects in the beginning look incredibly taxing, scary and intimidating, but now I am merely 10 courses away with 90 credits acquired.
There are many projects that we take in the beginning, seeing the mountain, I experience this every week with editing FrazlCast especially. I see a mountain on Friday that I must climb. However, when you get onto the other slope of that mountain and start heading down to the finish line, it feels so good.
You also grow along the way. I have grown a lot through my degree. In knowledge, perspective and the ability to complete courses of varying complexity. It even caused me in 2017 to finally begin podcasting again. I’ve applied my learning’s in my various pursuits. Even helped put together a store’s network infrastructure while studying Information Systems (Basically IT, but the textbooks were OLD!)
This week, look at what long roads you have in your life. Some you are about to begin, some you in the midst of and some you are about to finish. It may look harrowing in the beginning, but don’t forget to also enjoy the journey along the way. This is the blog portion of The Awesome Gnome Letter.
