At some time in your leadership journey, you will need to manage a timing or priority conflict with another person. They will stop you in the hall while you are on your way to a meeting and ask for a quick decision. You will get a phone call while you are composing an important email. When this happens, you will probably want to defer the engagement AND protect the relationship.
