SWANA collective members Ankine Antaram and Soraya Zarook speak to Yeghia Tashjian, Manal Kahale and Elizabeth Boulous. Tashjian speaks with us about the aftermath of the explosion in Lebanon, the international aid response, and the role of corruption and the political system that culminated in this disaster. Kahale and Boulous tells us about Light for Lebanon, partnered with Light Reach Network, that is providing important solutions to Lebanon's electrical problems.
Yeghia Tashjian is a regional analyst, researcher, and the Regional Officer of Women in War, a gender-based think tank. He is a contributor to various local and regional newspapers and presenter of the “Turkey Today” program in Radio Voice of Van. He founded the New Eastern Politics forum and blog in 2010.
Manal Kahale is a Lebanese Lighting Designer and a Partner of Light for Lebanon. She studied Landscape Architecture and holds a master’s degree in Lighting Design from Parsons in NYC.
Elizabeth Boulous is a Lebanese lawyer-trainee and Legal Consultant of Light for Lebanon. She studied law at the Université Saint-Joseph in Beirut, and holds three years of experience in a corporate law firm in Beirut.
