This was recorded live at our Beach Service (apologies for the wind noise in the recordings), during which we also did our annual "blessing of the backpacks" to recognize our kids as they head back to school in what will be a very different fall.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27:
“Do you not know that in a race the runners all compete, but only one gets the prize? So run in such a way as to win. 25 Athletes practice self-discipline in everything.
They do it to get a crown of leaves that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26
So I do not run aimlessly, nor do I box as though beating the air; 27 but I work my body and master it, so that after I have preached to others the way to run, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”
