Ephesians 1:22 (NLT)
God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made Him head over all things for the benefit of the church. 23 And the church is His body; it is made full and complete by Christ, He fills all things everywhere with Himself.
2 Timothy 2:19 (NASB)
The firm foundation of God stands, having this seal [signet, stamp - a mark of privacy or proof], "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain [to lead away, to depart from] from wickedness [unrighteousness]."
1 Corinthians 3:11-13 (NLT) No one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid - Jesus Christ. 12 Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials - gold, silver, jewels [eternal things], wood, hay, or straw [temporal things]. 13 But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. 2 Timothy 2:21 (NASB)
Therefore, if anyone CLEANSES himself from these things [vrs. 16-18 things that turn others away from faith in Christ], he will be a vessel for honor, SANCTIFIED, USEFUL to the Master, PREPARED for every good work.
The process of being cleaned, pruned, and purged creates a vessel for honor.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (NLT) Don't you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? 17 God will destroy anyone who destroys [5351 Phtheiro: corrupt, spoil] this temple. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.
