Temi shares some startling statistics about the effects that racism has on children & youth, specifically immigrant children, Black children and children of colour. In conversations with children she has counselled, their feelings of suicide being their only option stem back to racist encounters with their peers and in their schools. Temi asks the listeners to speak openly and honestly with their children about racism, and teach them about all different races. It’s not just enough for adults to do better, we must also teach our children the importance of doing the work to eradicate racism & racial bias, and to be inclusive of every person.
