La storia della missione Genesse portò il capitano Irwin nell'oltrepò pavese, una zona dove i partigiani erano numerosi ma mancava ancora un comando unificato. Attiva per poche settimane, la Genesse sarebbe, nel complesso, una missione piccola e poco importante. Tuttavia, il capitano Irwin fu intervistato sui fatti trent'anni dopo, all'interno di un progetto di storia orale. Diventa quindi molto interessante "fare le pulci" al suo report, scritto a caldo, confrontandolo con quello che invece gli rimase impresso nella memoria.

The story of the Genesse mission borught Captain Irwing in the oltrepò pavese, an area were the partisans were numerous, but they lacked a unified command. Active only for a few week, the Genesse would be a smalla and relatively unimportant mission. However, Captain Irwin's recollections of the missione were recorded, thirty years later, as part of an oral history project. It becomes thus very interesting to explore the difference and similarities between his report, written right after the events, and what he recalled after so many years.
