She is also president of the Privacy and Access Council of Canada, the nonpartisan national non-profit association of privacy and access professionals in Canada’s private and public sectors.

In 2007, Sharon founded The Winston Report, the foremost quarterly journal devoted to information access, privacy protection and data governance in Canada, and serves as its Editor-in-Chief.
