This week we welcomed Mandy Abbott who is a lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University, Clinical Director for Special Olympics GB and was Lead Podiatrist for the Commonwealth Games in 2014, the European Games in 2015, and the World Indoor Athletics in 2018. She talked about how best to prepare yourself for being part of a multidiscplinary team at a big games/event (read up on acute injury management and make sure you know your strapping), the sort of things which Podiatry tends to manage at such events, and the personal/professional value in doing such events (and it's not financial!)
