VISIBLE OR (IN) VISIBLE ⁣

Where is the artistic production of black women in institutional spaces⁣

Museums and institutional spaces need to enter the future for a permanent dialogue with diversity in the arts.⁣

They reflect the country's growing inequality today. Your administrators should help fix this with inclusion as the watchword. America's museums are no longer repositories of ancient Greek statues and Renaissance paintings. They are guardians of a growing social and democratic order.⁣

Izis Abreu has a master's degree in History, Theory and Art Criticism from the Postgraduate Program in Visual Arts at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and a Bachelor's Degree in Art History also from UFRGS. She is a curator at the Rio Grande do Sul Art Museum - Ado Malagoli, where she is also a member of the curatorial council. Researches the representation of black subjects in the history of art in Rio Grande do Sul and conducts lectures using the visual arts as a perspective of anti-racist education.⁣
