39. Languishing

Welcome to today's episode on languishing, inspired by the viral piece by psychologist Adam Grant in The New York Times!

Karen & Katie GET INTO IT when talking about the concept of languishing, which Grant refers to as the "neglected middle child of mental health" - basically the feeling that isn't exactly depression but isn't, as he says, "flourishing," either. The pair discuss how common this feeling (often referred to just as "blah" or "I don't want to do anything today" or "I'd rather stay in my PJs and watch Outlander on a loop while eating Cheetos" or "I'd rather get a root canal than look at my Slack messages for a single minute").

If you can relate, this episode is for you.

Karen & Katie also talk about how they are "flow partners" (a concept that really helps them battle feelings associated with languishing). They lament the number of tabs they have open on their browsers at once, and talk, in-depth, about the concept of choice and how many long-term relationships are seen like Supreme Court appointments (MIC DROP RIGHT THERE).

Thank you for listening - we appreciate each and every one of you.
