In this episode of GWIS podcast, Dr. Stacy Townsend, founder of Townsend Biopharm, shares her insights on the importance of embracing your uniqueness, pushing yourself beyond your boundaries and dreaming big!

Dr. Townsend has over 25 years of research and pre-clinical development experience with expertise in host-pathogen interactions supporting biotechnology with a broad range of therapeutic indications. Following graduate school, Dr. Townsend pursued postdoctoral research focused on developing in vivo models and investigating the pathogenesis of neonatal bacterial meningitis and brain abscess at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA). She collaborated with academic, industry, and regulatory bodies during her studies in Nottingham, England investigating bacterial strains causing outbreaks associated with contaminated nutrition among neonates. She returned to the United States to begin her career in therapeutic research and development. Her significant contributions to the scientific community have been equaled by her ongoing commitment to advancing women in science. Dr. Townsend currently supports biopharmaceutical industries and start-ups in developing novel life science-related therapeutics with her consulting firm Townsend Biopharm.
