Feel free to close your eyes and notice the sensation of how you are connected to the floor, chair - the earth. I invite you to soften the muscles around your eyes - and soften your jaw as you take a few easy breaths.
Now also bring awareness to a softening of your hearing by allowing sounds to float over you without necessarily naming them. There may be noises coming from the street outside, sounds from your neighbors next-door, even your own breath.
Enter into a practice of softening a desire to label and comprehend and instead invite a graceful shift to experiencing listening as an experience. To allow these sounds, and the silences between, to be just as they are.
Spend a few minutes simply enjoying the sounds around you....
So often we are reliving the past or are anxious about what is to come and we miss the exquisite beauty of now. Be in the present with yourself - and savor this very moment.
