I’ve been trying to start the conversation on when our mental health does not have anything to do with the profession. Because too many times we are demonizing the profession as the one and only source of mental health problems, but when we assign blame and responsibility to one thing that we do not mostly have control over, we give it more power and give ourselves less power. So I am really excited to speak with Jenn Smuts, who is the chief marketing officer of a firm in Delaware at the time of this recording, who opens up about her health journey in the legal profession even when it has nothing to do with the profession. Her journey gives us some questions to think about how we can truly address mental health struggles by tapping into our own love and strength. Sounds cheesy, but it works. Let’s get started.
