Terry Boyle McDougall has a name for her inner voice or inner critic. It’s Ralph. And, she reminds us that just like Ralph, your inner voice is just trying to protect you by reminding you to avoid risks and take the safe road. Unfortunately, by doing so, our inner voice ends up stealing away some of our happiness and fulfillment, too.
In this episode she compares Ralph to those fuzzy little things from the 1984 fantasy horror film, Gremlins, produced by Steven Spielberg. And, just like Gizmo (the character in Gremlins) can be controlled under the right circumstances, so can our inner voice. She’ll share how to tolerate our inner Gremlin – and even train it to help us.
