When We Aren’t Releasing, We Are Keeping Ourselves Stuck with guest Jodie Solberg

Purpose by Design welcomes back Jodie Solberg to our podcast -  she is a certified business and transpersonal wellness coach, hypnotherapist, international best-selling author, and transformational speaker where she teaches people to shift their mindset and empower themselves to uplevel themselves in all aspects of life. Today’s podcast is focused on coping strategies in regard to stress.

Jodie is going to delve in and discuss things to reduce stress, and change her life-transforming experience where a car-accident propelled her into analyzing how she was dealing with life’s circumstances and what it was doing to her body.  coming from her own experience. Jodie speaks out of experience and has a history where she dealt with burnout, being overwhelmed and not having a quality self-care, take note on how she made a 180 degree shift.

Our amazing guest went to school to be a therapist, worked with court-appointed clients for a while, it was very taxing on her however. For Jodie, that was something that led to her burn-out story. She ended up getting in an accident, and realized during rehab that she was not healing as she should. She ended up going to one of her colleagues and started doing some sessions with her as she wanted to make sure this never happened again.

Jodie talks about the importance of taking the time to take care of yourself, how you should think and talk to yourself as well. You empower other people to allow them to do things with you and for you, it is important to be able to seek help, and be alright with the help. For those of us who put others before ourselves, that hurts us because we can’t help others before helping ourselves…that is what leads to burn-out.

Jodie captures how she made some awesome lifestyle changes, and teaches how we are conditioned to not pay attention to our body, we are taught to ignore. In work or school, we are told when we can take an R&R, now Jodie will take a break in between clients. We are taught that releasing is a form of weakness, and we should be able to just move on and fight through. But in reality, taking the time to better ourselves in a stressful moment means we are taking control of what we can control. Naturally we are reactionary - when we can learn to stop and pause, and choose how to respond to the things that happen around us - we really are more in control.

Lastly, watch what you let enter your presence. Be mindful of what influences you are letting your eyes see and your ears hear as our body takes those things in. Know that you can incorporate small strategies and little tools into your day and those will accumulate to be powerful.
