Dennis visits the North Hollywood apartment of filmmaker Cameron Thrower to discuss the prestigious Jameson First Shot filmmaking contest he just won and the short film that resulted from it, Beauty Mark, which is available for viewing at JamesonFirstShot.com. He talks about working with his leading lady Maggie Gyllenhaal and Executive producer Kevin Spacey, finding out he won in a mind-blowing caught-on-camera way, the inspiration for the story, the fun of making a film that's set in the 1980's and the boost in confidence the win has given him. Cameron also talks about his previous film, "Pretty Boy," which is screenable at Vimeo.com, working at restaurants while pursuing his dreams, and teaching theater to kids with AmeriCorps when he first came to California from South Carolina. Other topics include: being an extra in "The Notebook," discovering community theater as a kid and the movie he's seen more than any other, "Dirty Dancing." www.cameronthrower.com
