Infinite Monkey Cage, The Good Place: The Podcast, Futility Closet

We are back with just the right of podcasts that you can handle. This week Patrick nerds out with Brian Cox's Infinite Monkey Cage, Liz gets pop culturey with The Good Place: The Podcast, and Zane takes a peek inside The Futility Closet.

Liz Recommends - The Good Place: The Podcast

"Holy motherforking shirtballs! This is the official comedy and entertainment podcast for NBC's TV show The Good Place. Subscribe and you'll get weekly behind-the-scenes stories, episode and performance insights and funny anecdotes. Hosted by actor Marc Evan Jackson (Shawn) with a rotating slate of co-hosts and special guests, including actors, writers, producers and more, this podcast takes a deep dive into everything on- and off-screen."

This isn't just your typical behind the scenes show podcast either. There's philosophy, trivia, basic chats with the actors about their lives, chats with the writers about their inspiration. It's really a quite joyful little listen along podcast for fans of the show. DO NOT listen to the first ep if you haven't finished the first season of The Good Place on TV.

For both: Pick a guest you wanna hear from.

Pat Recommends - The Infinite Monkey Cage

BBC Radio 4 produces the science/ comedy podcast with scientist Brian Cox and comedian Robin Ince. If you don't know who Brian Cox is then educate yourself you fool, and if you don't know who Robin Ince is then who could blame you? A typical epsidode sees Brian and Robin and three guests, two scientists and a comedian, tackle a particular topic. Parallell universes, death, speed, you name it. Episodes average about 30 minutes.

For Zane & Liz - Find yourself a topic or guest roster that piques interest.

Zane Recommends - Futility Closet

This is an old standard on Zane's play list. A pleasant distraction and easy-to-listen-to podcast. The Futility Closet podcast is a weekly show featuring forgotten stories from the pages of history, surprising and curious tales from the past and to end each episode with lateral thinking puzzles. Futility Closet is a collection of entertaining curiosities in history, literature, language, art, philosophy, and mathematics, designed to help you waste time as enjoyably as possible. This podcast is a spin off of the Futility Closet Blog and is hosted by the husband and wife team of Greg and Sandra Ross with their pod-cat Sasha, and they release episodes each Monday.

For Pat: Episode 259: The Astor Place Riot

For Liz: Episode 261: The Murder of Lord William Russell
