What is Augmented Bricklaying? I get to the bottom of this unusual question in conversation with the still young professor Kathrin Dörfler. Using a new technology developed by researchers at ETH Zurich, local bricklayers in Greece built the 225 m² façade in less than three months. The highly articulated brick walls show how Augmented Bricklaying combines the advantages of computer design with human dexterity and supports a completely new way of manufacturing.
At the end of the podcast, Prof. Dörfler calls for a rethinking of the profession of architect and explains how she wants to place digital themes in future architects.
